My Skillet Brownies are by far one of our favorite dessert recipes. If you eat pretty clean, you probably miss those brownie mixes in the red box…that rhyme with “Retty Drocker.” I used to make those all the time before we changed our diet. But I haven’t missed them since I created those skillet brownies!
I wanted to come up with a cute version of these that could be taken on the go or given as a gift. These Paleo Mason Jar Brownies are perfect for that! If you fill the jar a teensy bit less than 1/2 full with batter, wait for these to cool, screw on the lid, then you’re good to “go!”

Prep Time | 10 minutes |
Cook Time | 30 minutes |
Servings |
four oz jars
|
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup Enjoy Life chocolate chips + a few extra for sprinkling on top if desired.
- 3/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/2 cup melted coconut oil or butter extra to grease skillet
- 2 cups blanched almond flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 4-oz canning jars
Ingredients
|
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
- Grease canning jars with coconut oil or butter.
- Melt the chocolate chips and set aside.
- Whisk together the eggs, syrup and coconut oil or butter.
- Stir in the almond flour, baking soda and salt.
- Stir in melted chocolate chips.
- Spoon in enough batter to fill up about 3/4 full (if you don't want yours to overflow like mine did, probably a bit more than 1/2 full would be good...makes for a good picture, though!)
- Place onto baking sheet and bake in oven for 30-40 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- *Keep an eye on it after 30 minutes, though--you don't want to over cook them!
Want to take these on the go, or give them as a gift to friends? Just fill 1/2 way with batter (maybe a teensy bit less) and once they are cooled, screw on the lid! Perfect gift or fun little treat to take with you!
PS--I've heard you can sterilize the jars and lids and potentially be able to keep these for longer, but I haven't verified this yet.
