It’s slow cooker season! I needed something simple to throw in the crockpot the other day, and I don’t think it could have gotten any easier than this Crockpot BBQ Pork Picnic Roast! Don’t know what a pork picnic roast is? HERE’S a great article that talks about the different cuts. But if you want the gist of it, it’s what a lot of people use for pulled pork recipes.
Are you in the market for a slow cooker? If you are, THIS is the one I have, and I love it! One of my favorite features is that after it’s done cooking, it automatically turns itself to the “warm” setting to keep it nice and fresh for when we get home! Find out more BBQ essentials here.

- 3-4 lb pork picnic roast

- Turn on low and cook for 4-6 hours on low.
- Note: Mine was frozen when I put it in, and it still turned out awesome!

This recipe looks so yummy! Definitely trying this next week. When you made the recipe is the photo that is shown used with your homemade ketchup? Thanks!
I’m trying to find a paleo or healthy recipe of bbq sauce without all the additives.

Hi, Nicole! That BBQ sauce is actually an organic sauce from Whole Foods. It’s just what I had on hand at the time! But, I’ve used my homemade sauce, too!
