Eat Smarter. We all know it’s important to eat our fruits and vegetables, but for a healthy heart, you also need to pay attention to the other foods you’re putting in your body. In the United States, salt is consumed at a dangerously high rate. Research has shown that if Americans reduced their salt intake, we’d see a decrease in coronary heart disease.
Incorporate foods like blueberries, salmon, oatmeal, and almonds into your diet for better heart health, energy, and brainpower. Many heart-healthy foods also increase good cholesterol (HDL).
Eating healthy foods may also help improve your gut health and the condition of your colon. If you notice signs and symptoms of gastrointestinal diseases, you should see a doctor immediately. In case you get diagnosed with colon cancer, your doctor will recommend a colon cancer treatment.

Moving and sleeping more are definitely good ways to improve your chances at good health; something we all probably need a reminder of now and then 🙂
Salt intake, however, might on its own be less useful to consider.
Given that the “overwhelming research” mostly seems to be based on theoretical projections of studies that more likely than not are confounding salt intake with processed food consumption, best bet for a healthy heart is probably to just stop eating processed food, make “real food” at home, and salt to taste.
