Did you know you can plant the top of a pineapple and it’ll grow into a pineapple plant?! Well, in theory, anyway. I came across THIS how-to on growing your own pineapples.
Guess what? It only takes TWO years! But I thought, hey, I could use a houseplant. Why not try it?

And tomorrow I’m going to plant it in a pot. What do you think? Will I get a pineapple in 2014???

We do this all the time here… cut off the top and plant it in our garden!!! It does take a long time to produce, and each pineapple will be smaller than the one you planted it from. Granted, we’re in a more tropical climate, so pretty much anything you cut and stick in the ground grows! =)
