Be careful, friends! A few months ago, I received a call from someone saying they were from PG&E (our utility company) letting us know we owed $7.45 from an unpaid balance. I almost paid it over the phone, but when they asked for my credit card number, my spidey sense went off and I decided not to do it. A few weeks later, I received another call, this time they said my claim would be forwarded to a collection agency if I didn’t pay. I called PG&E, and (after waiting for more than an hour, I might add…) was told that this was a scam and that I had no outstanding balance on my account.
Today, we received this in the mail. . It looked very official. I Googled the company “North Shore Agency,” and they have an official-looking website and everything. After more research, I discovered this is definitely a SCAM. Please share–this would be an easy one to fall for, especially since they’re not asking for a lot of money.
