March Stitch Fix Review #7
It’s been a few months since I posted a Stitch Fix review! I wanted to make sure I got my March Stitch Fix review up for you guys! This month, I asked for some shorts and a very specific dress. Even though it’s only early March, I live in California, so springtime weather can come at any time!
My stylist Christina remembered that a few months back I requested a lighter-colored pair of distressed jeans, and she totally came through for me!
If you are not familiar with Stitch Fix and how it works, you can read my previous post HERE! I broke it down in three easy steps. =)
Onto the good stuff! Here’s my fashion show for March!
London Times Anaisey Jersey Dress $68
So, when I put this dress on, I loved it and hated it at the same time. I was hoping to love it, because I specifically requested it on my Pinterest board. It felt a little too long, though, and I just wasn’t sure about the pattern. I asked on my Instagram what people thought, and it seemed that many people thought it was too long, and some people said they didn’t care for the pattern, or it wasn’t flattering on me. But a bunch of people loved it! Ugh, I still don’t know what to do with it. I had a few people suggest styling it with a belt and a more bold necklace and different shoes. Would that help? Please help me! I kinda love it, but kinda don’t! I did ask Stitch Fix if they had a smaller size I could exchange this for, but they didn’t. So, tell me what to do! Would it be better styled differently? It’s incredibly comfortable, so it definitely has that going for it!
Papermoon Violeta Scallop Detail Blouse ($44) and Mavi Angie Skinny Jean ($88)
I actually loved this shirt from the front. The back? Not so sure. (You’ll see that below.) The jeans were a no-brainer. I got a pair of Mavi jeans in a previous fix that are like wearing butter, and these were no different. They were so comfy and were exactly what I was looking for!
Papermoon Violeta Scallop Detail Blouse ($44) and Level 99 Cindie Linen Short ($78)
Ok, back to this shirt. I think the front is pretty adorable. Love the little layered scalloped detail. But the back? Not convinced (see below pic). This is another one I need your help with! Keep or send back?
The shorts felt a little like old lady shorts to me, but they were light and airy, and I was hoping for a bit of shrinkage once I washed them. I don’t own any linen, so thought it would be a fun way to stretch myself a bit out of my comfort zone. I decided to keep.
The shirt, though. What do you think?
Dear John Lillie Distressed Cuffed Denim Short ($58)
This first pic of me is not very good at all. I look like I’m half drugged. But the dog! It cracked me up so much, I had to share it. He’s actually completely airborne in this pic! lol
The shorts were definite keepers–a staple for spring and summer, really comfy and not too short. In my note to my stylist, I asked that the shorts not be “hoochy shorts” and I didn’t want my bum cheek or pockets hanging out the bottom, so I was really happy with these.
So, that’s my fix! What do you think? Please tell me what to do about the dress and the scalloped shirt!

Hi, Shanti! I stitchfix stalk you because your taste/style seems to be really similar to mine :). There are at least four pièces of clothing I have that I pinned from one of your fixes, and there have been several of your fixes that i’ve been amused to see that *I* already have the pièces you’ve been sent, or ones very similar.
So – that being said…the dress and the shirt. If I got them, I’d be tempted too, because they are soooo close to my taste, buuuuut… I think the dress looks lovely on you, but if it were me, I know that what would happen is I’d pull it out, and put it on to go somewhere… and then I’d take it off because it wouldn’t feel quite like me when it came down to it. The dress is so pretty, but too busy of a pattern I think, and I’d feel self-conscious. Same for those scallops on the top. Just a little too much… too girly, maybe, in a way that wouldn’t quite *feel* right, even though it looks so close to perfect from the front. For what it’s worth, that’s my take, from someone with somewhat parallel taste :). Best, M

Thanks, Michelle! That helps a lot!! Do you have blog with SF pics I can check out???

I think the black shirt (I agree with your thoughts) and dress to be returned.

Hi Shanti. No to the dress. Too long and not very flattering although the print is cute. The scallop shirt is adorable and would keep it. I actually want it for myself! Love the jean shorts on you. They fit you perfect!
Rhelda says
Maybe I should buy the top from you. Is it up for sale?
Shanti Landon says
Hey, Rhelda! Sorry, I sold it already! lol

Bummer!

I think you got an AWESOME fix!! I would totally keep everything but the first dress, simply because it’s too long. The scalloped shirt is gorgeous. The shorts and pants fit you like a glove!!

I didn’t like the dress on you. I also thought it was too long. I don’t think add a belt would help with this dress. I loved the shirt. You should keep it.

I like the dress, but I guess i would try it with a belt, or how StichFix styled it on their card to see if you like it any better.
The back of the scalloped top is different, but it looks cute. I would say keep it unless it is uncomfortable.

Great reviews! I think the dress is too long and/or not fitted enough from the torso-down, so I think you should return it? I actually received the same scalloped top, which is what’s led me here! I was actually not expecting to like it once I took it out of the box, but once I tried it on, it ended up being the only item I kept! It is out of my comfort zone since I don’t tend to bare my back, but I thought it was sophisticated and “fashiony” enough to give a try! Quick question though, how did you get another $30 credit?!
Shanti Landon says
Hi, Kristynne! I referred someone, so I had a credit from the referral!
