Trunk Club Review – Another Stitch Fix for Men?
Superman has really enjoyed getting new clothes from Bombfell. We heard about another box subscription service called Trunk Club that is both for men and women, and is run similarly to Stitch Fix. I decided to do a Trunk Club review and see if it’s like another Stitch Fix for men!
The way Trunk Club works is this:
- You go online to the Trunk Club site.
- Next, fill out a style profile similar to how you would on Stitch Fix.
- Then you talk with your stylist (this can be done via phone or chat, we chose chat) about what you are looking for and your tastes.
Superman’s stylist was Yasmin. After our chat, she sent him a link with the items she had picked out for him. He was looking specifically for work clothes as well as casual weekend clothes. He had 24 hours to reject any item he definitely didn’t want, and then the rest would ship. I loved this idea! Yasmin did an excellent job picking out clothes Superman would like, so we didn’t reject anything, but I could see how it would be really nice if you were going to be sent items you know you wouldn’t like.
A great thing about Trunk Club is that there is no stylist fee up front like Stitch Fix has. Also, the items shipped within a few days, and showed up at our house via FedEx very quickly!
I will say, Trunk Club is definitely a bit higher-end, and the prices reflected that, but for a awesome gift idea, this would be wonderful! Superman actually loved every item in his box, but just because of cost, we only chose to keep four of them.
Ok, on to the good stuff…
So, first of all, I absolutely love the box they ship in. Isn’t it adorable?!
Alternative Apparel Pocket Short Sleeve Tee and Tailor Vintage Walking Shorts – $46 and $78
Superman kept these shorts, but not the tee. At $46, it just wasn’t worth having another t-shirt in his closet very similar to what he already has. We loved the shorts, though, and he doesn’t have any in that color, so we kept ’em!
John Varvatos JV Classic Polo and Slate & Stone Venice Short – $78 and $95
We kept this polo. Superman doesn’t have a polo in this color, and it would be perfect for work. We loved the shorts, but again, he has similar items in his closet, and for $95, it just wasn’t worth it to us.
Billy Reid Pensacola Stripe Polo and Grayers Newport Club Short – $95 and $95
We didn’t keep either of these items, either. The shorts were actually a little on the “short” side (hee hee), so they were a no-go. We actually loved the polo, but again, cost…
Rodd & Gunn Newport Polo and Grayers Newport Club Short – $75 and 78
These two were sent back, too…it’s looking like we didn’t like anything, but we had to pick and choose, and only stuck with items that Superman loved, as well as needed.
Slate & Stone Short Sleeve Crew Neck Tee and Grayers Newport Club Short – $48 and $78
Purple shirt went back, too…
Velvetman Short Sleeve Whisper Classic Henley and Tailor Vintage Walking Short – $85 and $78
We kept these shorts as well! Even though his pose makes it kinda hard to see what they look like, they fit him perfectly! And this shirt was a definitely keeper. He normally wears polos to work, but with the buttons in the front of this, we figured he could get away with this dressy-casual look. =)
Sol Angeles Basic V-Neck and Tailor Vintage Walking Shorts – $52 and $78
This shirt was incredibly soft and comfortable, but we chose to send it back since Superman wasn’t in love with it. The shorts stayed, though!
Velvetman Short Sleeve Whisper Classic V-Neck and Slate & Stone Venice Short – $60 and $95
Superman has multiple shirts this color, so even though it looked great on him, we sent it back. The shorts were the same as above, and were sent back as well. But seriously, can you believe the incredible modeling capabilities this man has??
So, that was our first Trunk Club experience! Seriously, we loved everything Yasmin sent, and would have loved to have kept it all. It was really fun having so many items to choose from and Superman ended up being really happy with the four items he picked.
This is a high-cost box, but it also is a very high-end service. I also like that there is zero cost for the whole experience – you just pay for what you want to keep! Want to try Trunk Club for yourself or gift it to someone you love? You can try it HERE! There’s really no risk, you can send everything back at no cost to you if you don’t love anything!
If you do try it, let me know how you like it! Or if you already use Trunk Club’s service, tell me about how you like it!

I think that the higher prices of the items offset a styling fee. I absolutely love that you can pick what you want sent. Great idea.

$46-95 a piece for tshirts, polos and shorts?! Sorry, but I think that’s absolutely crazy. I could easily take my guy to J. Crew, Gap or somewhere similar, pick out some very similar stuff and not pay anywhere near that. I don’t need to pay THAT much of an upcharge to have someone pick out a henley in his size in a cool color and ship it to me in a fancy box. Seems like a ripoff to me. Hope they compensated you for the review, at least…

Hi Kathy! I totally understand. I did not get compensated for this review, however, I do get a referral credit like anyone else if someone signs up through my link. I like to be adventurous and try new things! But like I said, this is definitely a high-end service, and you’re really paying for the convenience and amazing customer service.
