Now when you’re craving In-n-Out, you can just make these at home!
Recipe: Paleo “Animal Style” Burgers (makes about 9 burgers)
3 lbs ground beef (I used 2 pounds ground beef and 1 pound ground goat)
3 TBSP minced dried onion (THIS is the kind I got at Costco) + 1/4 cup minced dried onion, separated
2 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
3 TBSP avocado or olive oil
Mix together the ground beef, 3 TBSP dried onion, salt and pepper in a bowl, then form into patties, making sure they are pretty flat. Cook on a griddle or in a skillet for about 4 minutes on each side. While those are cooking, add the 1/4 cup dried onions to a 1/2 cup water. Let sit for about 5 minutes to let the water soak in mostly. Heat oil in a skillet, and drain off any excess water from the onions. Add into skillet, and cook until caramelized. Once burgers are done, top with the caramelized onions and your favorite condiments. Enjoy!

Are you serious…ground goat??!!
Shanti Landon says
Is that weird? Goat is a meat used all around the world! lol It’s not something we eat every day, but you can use any ground meat for this recipe. =)

Wouldn’t cooking regular onions work in place of reconstituting dried onions?
Shanti Landon says
Hi, Alison! Yes–that will work. It’s a bit of a different texture/flavor, but still tastes great! Just make sure you mince them small! =)
