Obama goes gluten free and signs bill forcing restaurants to change

 

I never thought this day would come, but yesterday, Barack Obama announced that he and his family have been eating gluten free for about five months. Not only that, but he is ready to make restaurants nationwide switch their menus to gluten-free offerings as well. 

Every chain restaurant, from McDonald’s to Round Table Pizza will be required (beginning July 1, 2016) to switch any gluten-containing items to gluten-free. Not only that, but restaurants will no longer even be allowed to offer any gluten-containing items. If restaurants don’t comply, they will receive hefty fines and the threat of being shut down. 

In a press conference last night, Obama stated, 

It’s high time things changed here in America. My eyes have been opened to the dangerous effects of gluten, and my family and I have made some big changes to our diet. I am doing what I believe is best for our country, and that means making decisions for the American people  that I don’t think they are ready to make themselves. I’ve also recently become an avid user of essential oils and Michelle has been rubbing them on my feet every night to help me sleep better. I am trying to become more natural and aware of what I’m putting in and on my body.

Obama said he plans to start the “gluten-free transition” with all fast food restaurants. 

“I think the hardest part will be losing my beer,” he said. “There’s nothing like sitting in the Oval Office after a long day with a cold brewski in hand, and gluten-free beers just aren’t the same. I’m working with Budweiser to develop a new top notch product for the American people.”
