Sure, you could just throw some rice in a pot or rice cooker and add water. But you’ll never want to do that again once you try this!!
Put your rice in a pot.
Pour in some olive oil (enough to lightly coat all the rice when stirred).
Add in some salt.
Turn heat on stove to medium, and cook for about 6-8 minutes, until rice is turning a bit white, and/or browning.
Add in water, bring to a boil, reduce heat and cover and cook until the rice is soft and fluffy and water is absorbed.

mmmmm toasted rice! That’s how I do it in my jambalaya. But lately I’ve been doing the WAPF-method of soaking my rice before cooking it. Do you have a suggestion for if this would still work, and if I should do it before or after soaking?

I have not tried soaking rice, but if I were going to try it, I would try soaking the rice first, then adding it to the pot with the oil and following the directions. Let me know how it turns out!
