It’s Prayer Warrior Monday, which means it’s time for us to pray for you!
My family does a once-a-month visit to serve lunch to a group of homeless people with some friends, and yesterday I brought nail polish with me. It was one of my favorite times serving so far. Painting these women’s nails, talking with them, finding out who they are for a few brief moments…it was all wonderful. And they walked away admiring their nails, with a new skip in their step. And it struck me: I am so blessed. I already knew that, but there, in that moment, I felt it deep in my heart. It was one of those times where I looked around me and realized just how freakin’ thankful I am. I paint my nails all the time. I get to take a shower every day and blow-dry my hair and put on makeup. And these women, they may be homeless, without jobs, struggling; but they still want to look beautiful, and they were. Missing teeth, dirty fingernails, unkempt hair: it didn’t matter. All I could see was the smile on their faces. And it made them beautiful. And painting their nails was one small step toward helping them remember who they were before all this, or who they dream to be. It warmed my heart and filled me to overflowing. So today, be thankful. Whatever it is, there is something to be thankful for. Find that thing and dwell on it for a bit. See if your heart can well up with joy, even in the midst of pain that may be going on in your life. Even if you know everything around you is in shambles, take a look in the mirror and remember: you are a beautiful, loved daughter or son of God. He sees past all the muck and his eyes glimmer with pride at His dear, beloved creation.
So, how can we pray for you today? Whether it is a prayer of thanks or a prayer of desperation, let us know, and tonight my family and I will pray for you individually.

While I’m thankful to have a job, I am trying to switch careers. I’m not young anymore, so it is proving to be difficult. I know things happen on His timetable, but it would be nice to know someone else out there is praying for me to get my “break”. Thank you.

I’d like to thank you guys for offering this. I would like for you guys to pray for my health. I want God to provide me with the knowledge and willpower to combat my PCOS for good, to get my weight back down, and to do extremely well in my upcoming 2nd year of medical school. I would also like to pray for the health, strength, and success of my parents and little sister, in whatever endeavors they may undertake.
