These are delightful. The hint of cayenne is a fun, subtle twist, but you could leave it out if you prefer!
Recipe: Cayenne-peppermint fudge bites (makes about 2 dozen) *See note
1 cup coconut oil, at room temperature
1 tsp peppermint extract
1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
3-4 TBSP unsweetened cocoa powder
little less than 1/4 cup maple syrup
pinch cayenne pepper
Combine all ingredients in a bowl with a whisk or fork.
Make sure there’s no big lumps of coconut oil. Scoop out with a small cookie scoop (or, if you don’t have, one, about 1 TBSP at a time), and place onto parchment paper-covered plate. Place in fridge for 30 minutes or until hardened. Consume. Yum!
*Important note: These need to be stored in the fridge and consumed quickly once removed, or you will have a mushy mess. Probably still good-tasting, but mushy, nonetheless.

Hello!
I am interested in trying this recipe out, but was wondering if I could substitute something for the maple syrup? Would honey or agave nectar work? Anything else? Thanks!

I am sure you could use an alternative sweetener. Let me know how it turns out if you do!
