2. Order your first fix! Your card will be charged a $20 styling fee, but if you keep any item [one or more] you will be credited back the $20. Because of this I always recommend keeping at least one item or you are essentially giving away $20 for nothing in return. You will receive five items in your fix. I personally only want clothing in my fix (as opposed to jewelry or other accessories) so I just always let my stylist know!
3. Decide what you want and what you want to send back [in a postage paid envelope]! You have 3 business days to do so – use this time to try everything on, see what you have in your closet that pairs well with it and don’t be afraid to say yes to something that you wouldn’t normally. That’s what makes Stitch Fix so fun!
It should be noted that while I have chosen to receive monthly fixes, this is in no way a subscription service and you are able to decide when you want another fix, whether that be in 6 months or 2 years from your first fix! I know some peeps are curious on the pricing, I cover all the prices below!
Like I said, I was looking for specific items this month. I pinned a few things, hoping my stylist would find what I was wanting.
Here’s the image I pinned showing a blazer I was interested in:
Pretty darn good, right?
Here’s the other one I pinned (pointing out the checkered shirt):
First of all, who is this girl?? She’s adorable. Secondly, here’s what my stylist sent:
These items were all way more pricey than I would normally spend on clothing, but because I was specifically looking for certain things for the retreat, I was ok spending more than normal. And honestly, the fact that my stylist did my shopping for me, and found exactly what I was looking for made it completely worth it. So, onto the fun part: the fashion show!
KENSIE Rebekah Contrast Detail Blazer ($88)
Superman says he doesn’t like this blazer. It’s not that it looks bad on me, it’s just that he doesn’t think it reflects me well. It’s probably true…I’m not a blazer kinda girl. But ultimately I kind of like the idea of having something professional on hand for when I need it. Plus, wait until the end to see exactly why I chose to keep it (hint: it has to do with money!)
Verdict: Kept!
MARGARET M Emer Jacquard Print High Waisted Cropped Pant ($98)
Love the detail on these!
Here I am wearing these with the Skies are Blue Arnott Double Front Pocket Top:
I have heard nothing but wonderful things about these pants, and boy, were people right! They are so comfy! No zippers, no buttons, just slide ’em right on!
Verdict: Kept!
BRIXON IVY Lawley Cable Knit Open Cardigan ($68)
Oh my goodness. The pockets on this are so fun! I felt like I could fly! Totally comfy, perfect for fall, and makes me want to slip on some boots and sit in a rocking chair with a cup o’ joe. I paired the cardigan here with my Emer pants, but the stylist suggested pairing it with the checkered shirt and boyfriend jeans. It was just so darn hot outside, I couldn’t do it.
Verdict: Kept!
SKIES ARE BLUE Arnott Double Front Pocket Top ($58)
I was hesitant when I first put this on because of the length, but did a few Google searches to see how to style it, and ended up loving it! Soft and comfy too.
Verdict: Kept!
MAVI Sonja Boyfriend Jean ($88)
Ok, these were the item I was completely on the fence with. I am 5’2″ tall, and thought they would not be flattering at all. Maybe they aren’t?? Help me out with this one. They were probably the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever worn, which bumps them up quite a few notches on the approval scale. But are they cute?? Be honest.
Verdict: Probably keeping, but need confirmation!
Here’s the money breakdown:
If I chose to return an item, I would lose my 25% discount. If I had to pick one that I would return, it would be the blazer or the boyfriend jeans (each $88). If I returned one of those, and kept the other four items, my total would have been $287. Deciding to keep the last item, I received my 25% discount, bringing my total to $275. So, I would be paying $12 more to give back the blazer. Hmmm. Ultimately, if I decide I don’t want to keep the blazer or boyfriend jeans, I will sell them in one of the Stitch Fix Facebook groups that I’m part of! That way, I’m able to keep my discount, and get rid of the item(s) I don’t want!
Just a tip: A huge reason why I had such great success again is because I provided my Pinterest board to the stylist. It was seriously like she knew me!

Oh my goodness, you are so cute!! I think all of these items look amazing on you! I really love the checkered shirt and cardigan. You model everything well and do a great job with styling. I found your blog after google September Stitch Fix reviews, and I’m so glad I did! I love it so far! I’ve done SF reviews for almost a year, but I had no idea about the Facebook group, so thanks for mentioning that. 🙂

Oh, thank you Erica!! I’ll check out your blog!

Hi! I clicked through to your blog after searching stitch fix on Instagram. i saw you ask about the cute girl in the photos. She’s a fashion blogger called j’s everyday fashion. I’ve pinned many of her outfits over the last years!

Thank you, Jen!

I just completed my second Stitch Fix review as well! I’m on my tenth fix, but just recently started reviewing them! I second the other comments about the jeans. They are really cute, and they look great with that checkered shirt. I just received a pair of Emer pants (straight-leg, not cropped), and decided to keep them. They ARE very comfortable – aren’t they? I’m curious to see how they hold up after wearing a few hours. I love that blue print that you got! 🙂
Shanti Landon says
Yes! So comfy! I’ll check out your blog!

Keep the boyfriend jeans! They look great on you! I just received my first fix in August and had the same dilemma on whether to keep or return items. I returned 2, but only because one did not fit, so sent back the second that I was on the fence about. I got the same Emer pants and love them.
Shanti Landon says
Thanks, Deb! I kept them, and I love them!! Would love to see pics of yours!

Hi! I am receiving my first SF next month! I am super excited. I do have a question … What price range did you choose on your style profile? I am wondering how much all 5 items will be.
P.S. You look great in all your items!
Shanti Landon says
I think I went with the lowest pricing, except I may have done the middle option on a few things…I’m so sorry, I can’t remember!! I think fall items are naturally more pricey than summer items since they aren’t light and airy like a tank top…come back and share your fix with me once you get it! I want to see!

I like seeing your Stitch Fix reviews, your stylist is great! I like seeing how things are put together in different ways than my brain would 🙂 I’m curious about a non-Stitch item, too…your flat sandals you’re wearing in a few pics. Would you share where they’re from?
Shanti Landon says
Hi, Jami! I got those at Ross a few weeks ago!
Jami says
I’m always on the lookout for a good pair of cute sandals, even with fall on it’s way in! Thanks
