1. Have Someone Come Over
(Side note–that’s not my house.) You know when you get that call that someone is dropping by? The scurry, the flurry, the rush? Don’t pretend like you’ve never done it. We all want our houses to look like a photo from Sunset magazine or Pottery Barn, and when someone is coming over, it’s your best time to pretend that you do. Sometimes when my house is messy, I’ll invite someone over just so that I’m motivated to clean. If you are still not able to clean by asking a friend in, consider asking an expert cleaner from carpet cleaning daytona beach.
2. Use Minions
Why should you do all the work yourself? Didn’t you have children so you would have mini versions of yourself around to help do slave labor? Having them clean up after you (and themselves) builds character, humility, and a strong work ethic. Seriously, you should feel like a solid parent when you’re kids are cleaning. Especially when you see them on their knees, bent over the toilet, scrubbing. You should feel your heart swell with pride, friend. For reals.
3. Eat Outside
Ok. If you’re somewhere where it’s snowing right now, this might be difficult. Maybe you can put a space heater in your garage and serve dinner there. Yup. But if you live in an area where you don’t have to wear an eskimo suit to survive, you should do this. Grab some plates and utensils. Oh wait, even better–just use your hands! You can just grab food straight from the serving platter and eat with your fingers. That’s probably what our ancestors did anyway. Eat it outside, and let the crumbs fall where they may. Hee hee. I just made a pun.
4. Get Sick
You’re probably thinking, “How the heck does getting sick help me keep my house clean?” Well, it’s more the after you’re sick part. Do you ever go on a cleaning frenzy after someone in your house is sick? Of course you do. Or, at least you wait for the sickness to run its course through everyone in your household, and then you decide to clean. And those cleanings are usually some of the best. You know, the deep clean. The times when you call carpet cleaning in Newport cleaners for them deep clean your carpets. And all you have to do to be motivated to do this is have everyone in your house get sick! Not much of a trade off, eh? You can always try some natural remedies to help you get through the worst of it.
5. Get Rid of All Your Stuff
Honestly, this is just common sense folks. If you want a clean, clutter-free home, just get rid of all your stuff. And, this really goes hand-in-hand with #3. You’re gonna eat outside anyway right? No dust bunnies under furniture, no dog hair (see bonus option below) stuck to your favorite recliner, no becoming a couch potato…so many benefits to not having furniture! Think about it–you could probably be ready for a marathon in no time! And if you get rid of all your kids’ toys, there won’t be any arguing over who left Susie’s stuffed animal out in the rain. I’m not seeing any drawbacks here. Plus, with the help of services like Lake Charles Cleaners, keeping your home pristine and clutter-free has never been easier.
Bonus option: Get a Dog
Right? They’re like a vacuum. Who needs a Roomba when you can have a snuggly pet do the work for you?
So there you have it! 5 simple ways to keep your house clean. Are you going to implement them?

These are cute ideas. I definitely invite people over so I will clean! However I do have one note, you joke about slave labor under a picture of a black kid cleaning. Kind of bad taste.
Life Made Full says
Sorry that offended you, Morgan. That is my son, though, you know that right? lol
Morgan says
Thank you for apologizing. I’m a big fan of your blog and I appreciate all the knowledge you share. I understand he is your son and not your “black son” so you didn’t give it a second thought but I also feel strongly about saying something when I feel it is wrong.

Her kid is black…. should she grab a stock photo of someone else’s kid off the internet to avoid any chance to offense? LOL Too sensitive. People that know Shanti well enough through her blog, Facebook & elsewhere know that she’s got one of the biggest hearts & no ill-intentions were behind the choosing of which child’s picture ended up in the post.
Morgan says
Having a black kid doesn’t mean you can be insensitive. I was not trying to imply that she had ill intention, just maybe should have been more thoughtful about her word choice.

Lol! These are really cute ideas. I thought the “use minions” was my favorite one, haha! I can’t wait for my two-year old to be old enough to clean the toilets π lol! And I totally have invited people over just so I’d be motivated to clean!

Love your blog. And yes, I did have kids so that they could do all the labor. I tell them that all the time (why do you think you’re here?) and they think that makes me a bad mom. I say wait til you have children. Anyway, fantastic tips. Found this post on Pinterest. I am subscribing. π
