Whole30 shopping at Walmart! Doing a Whole30 can be a daunting task, and cost deters many from even attempting it. Sometimes it seems that the only place we can shop when doing a Whole30 is Whole Paycheck or other specialty grocery stores. No worries!
As you’ll see, I’ve included prices with many items. Please keep in mind I am in Northern California, so you may have different prices at your local Walmart.

Whole30 Shopping at Walmart
Fresh and Frozen Meats & Seafood
There aren’t a ton of grass fed options when it comes to fresh meat & seafood at Walmart. They, did, however, have a pretty good selection of frozen wild fish. Of course, while grass-fed/grass-finished is best, we can’t always afford that, so we do what we can! Here are some options:
Grass Fed Ground Beef $5.98/lb
Crescent Foods Antibiotic-Free Chicken $5.08/lb
Wild-Caught Cod $6.98/2 lbs
Wild-Caught Sockeye Salmon $5.34/12 oz
Wild Salmon $5.46/lb
Wild-Caught Flounder $4.74/lb
Wild-Caught Rockfish $7.97/12 oz
Wild-Caught Mahi Mahi $7.87/lb
Wild Albacore Tuna $9.97/12 oz
Aidell’s Chicken Apple Sausage $5.44/4 sausages
Fresh Produce
The organic section at my Walmart was severely lacking. However, there were some items that were organic, and definitely a lot of conventional produce. I didn’t put prices on these since those vary so much. This list is by no means exhaustive, and I’m sure varies during different seasons. There is also a variety of frozen fruits and veggies available in the freezer section.
Organic Produce:
Organic Romaine Lettuce
Organic Spring Mix
Organic Broccoli
Organic Spinach
Organic Baby Kale
Organic Cucumbers
Organic Celery
Organic Carrots
Avocados
Bell Peppers
Broccoli
Brussels Sprouts
Asparagus
Tomatoes
Green Beans
Bananas
Raspberries
Strawberries
Apples
Sweet Potatoes
Zucchini Squash
Blueberries
Pineapple
Snacks
On the Whole30, you have to be careful not to keep up old snacking habits, but assuming you are ok in that area, here are some snack ideas:
Blue Diamond Almonds 14 oz/$7.96
Mauna Loa Macadamia Nuts 4.5 oz/$4.86
Wonderful Pistachios 24 oz/$13.98
Orchard Fresh Walnuts 8 oz/$4.98
Wholly Guacamole 10 oz/$2.67
Wild Planet Albacore Tuna
Oils
Avocado Oil (my personal favorite for cooking! It has a high smoke point) *Please note: This is much cheaper at Costco, so if you have a Costco membership, I’d get it there! For my “Whole30 Shopping at Costco” list, go HERE.) 16.9 oz/$7.48
Olive Oil (assorted)
Organic Garlic Olive Oil
Coconut Oil 30 oz/$6.64
I also saw almond meal at Walmart that was $9.98 for one pound. Again, I have seen cheaper almond flour at Costco, but if you’re in a pinch, this may work for you.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my Whole30 shopping at Walmart list. Again, do you have things you’d like to add? Comment below!

I am in Upstate NY and we have different things at the local Walmart. There is not as much organic produce variety, but we do have more organic meats. There is a variety of grass fed beef cuts, plus a fully organic ground beef. There is Harvestland Organic Chicken (and the all natural, not hormone, no antibiotic ones too). We have more all natural sausage choices, and there are 2 kinds of uncured bacon (I believe Oscar Mayer and Hormel). There is a selection of natural, uncured lunch meats as well (not organic), and uncured bacon pieces. Seafood seems standard for here as well, but we also have a few extras, like wild caught haddock. I have found some good deals on organic spices, many varieties of coconut oil, and if you are not concerned with organic status they have real lard! There is a brand of coconut milk (Golden Star) that has no junk in it, and is usually nice and thick so I can use it like cream. It’s a cheapie too! I like the frozen veggies as they are a bit cheaper than my local grocery store. I just threw out a bunch of receipts or I would have some prices for you too!

Un-cured bacon may fit in with some Paleo diets, but nearly all still contain sugar and other additives which are unacceptable on both Paleo and Whole30 plans, so be sure to check your personal guidelines before purchasing.
