Welcome to my little corner of the Internet!
My name is Shanti Landon, and I’ve been married to Chris for 23 years. I adore him more and more each year and can’t say enough wonderful things about him. We have five children–our oldest is 18 and is our biological son. The other four joined our family by adoption through foster care, and their ages are: 17, 16, 14, and 12. Yes, it’s always loud at our house, in case you were wondering. Chris taught in the public schools for 18 years, but recently left to teach as a math teacher at a private school, and I am the District Director to Placer County Supervisor, Robert Weygandt. We live on the outskirts of Lincoln, CA on a farm with sheep, pigs, our llama Tina, and our dog, Huck.
I started my blog in 2011 because of Chris’ health issues.
You can read about why we became more health-conscious as a result of Chris’ near-death experience HERE.
I received a bachelor’s degree in journalism, and spent years writing on my site as a freelance journalist, as well as contributing to the Huffington Post. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to appear on Good Day Sacramento, Fox 40 news, and have shared my thoughts as a speaker at various retreats and conferences. It delights me that while I was blogging regularly, Life Made Full received millions of visits every year, and my message of living our lives fully (emotionally, spiritually and physically) grew!
I hope you enjoy perusing my website. You’ll find lots of gluten-free recipes, inspirational posts and thoughts on current-day events here. My hope is that you leave my site feeling a bit more “full,” ready to live the rest of your life as the best of your life!
I love to emcee events for good causes, and frequently speak in public settings sharing my story of growing up in a home with a father with schizophrenia and how that affected my decision to adopt children out of foster care. If you’re interested in having me speak at your event, you can contact me here.
