Cold and flu season is descending upon us. Before we know it, sickie germs will be all around and our kids will be fighting mysterious illnesses. I’m always looking for a tried-and-true natural cold remedy that will help my kiddos (and me!) bounce back quickly.
Not long ago, Superman was feeling under the weather, and I came up with this concoction to zap his system into gear.
Truth be told: He said it tastes nasty. But hey, this isn’t about taste, people, this is about healing. It’s a natural cold remedy.

Is this a “one and done” thing or do you take several doses?
Life Made Full says
My hubby just did it once at the first sign of a cold. If you already are in the midst of a cold, you may want to do on in the a.m., one in the evening, though.

I use a similar remedy – although I add cinnamon. Hadn’t thought about adding turmeric – I’ll have to try that! My strategy is – once at night if somebody at work has gotten sick. Once at night and once the next morning if I feel like I am coming down with something. And 3 times a day if I actually do get a full-blown viral infection. With this remedy, I’ve gone from taking weeks to months to get over colds and the ensuing complications, to being able to knock a bad cold down in 2 days.

Can you use garlic powder in place of minced garlic?
Life Made Full says
Hmm. It’s possible? I haven’t tried it, though, and can’t verify that powder is as effective as fresh garlic–perhaps try Googling it to see if it would make a difference? Sorry I’m not more help!

Can this be taken when pregnant !?
Shanti Landon says
Hi, Samantha! I’m not a doctor, so I can’t advise you. =( I would suggest asking your ob/gyn or naturopath to see if it is acceptable? Sorry I’m not more help!
