The Orange Dream Machine at Jamba Juice is one of my favorite smoothies. For a “fast food” treat, the ingredients don’t seem all that bad: Nonfat Frozen Yogurt (Contains Milk), Soymilk (Contains Soy), Orange sherbet (Contains Milk), Ice. However, I have no idea if the yogurt and sherbet are sweetened with corn syrup or not, I don’t always have access to Jamba Juice, and at about $4 a pop, it’s much more cost efficient (and healthier) to make something similar at home. Here’s what I came up with, and all my kids thought it was just as good as Jamba Juice!
Recipe: Copycat Jamba Juice Orange Dream Machine (makes enough for 2)
3/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup almond milk
1 orange, peeled
2 TBSP yogurt (optional–it gives the drink a little “tang” but if you are dairy-free, you could use refrigerated full-fat, unsweetened coconut milk)
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
6-8 ice cubes
Add all ingredients to high-powered blender and blend for about a minute, until smooth. Enjoy!
