Aidells Chicken and Apple Sausage (available at Costco)
Larabars **Use in extreme moderation!** (available at Costco)
Boiled eggs (great topped with guacamole and mustard!)
Small handful of almonds, macadamia nuts, pistachios, etc. with blackberries drizzled with a bit of unsweetened coconut milk and some dried candies from Kanpai Foods
These caramelized coconut chips
Purple cabbage slaw (recipe HERE)
Celery and almond butter
Bacon-wrapped asparagus*

Baked Kale Chips (recipe HERE)
Apples topped with cinnamon (make sure you’re not eating this to satisfy a sweet craving, though)
Sweet potato with a bit of ghee
Steamed veggies topped with sliced almonds or pine nuts

Thanks for the great snack ideas Shanti! This is day 3 for me, and I’m beginning to feel it a little…took a bike ride today and my muscles felt a little “leaden”…and I even had a banana with lunch before I left! After a little warming up, I felt better – and sometime I do feel that way on a ride, so perhaps it was just one of those “off” days. Got back from my ride about an hour ago and was really hungry – I just had celery and almond butter and it did the trick! And YUM!!! So hopefully that will hold me until dinner!! Thanks for giving us so many ideas – it is really helping me!

Thanks for the ideas! I’m on my first Whole30 and am doing okay so far, but am definitely tired, but having a hard time sleeping at night. Is this a normal thing for anyone?
radlandon says
Yes, it’s common for your sleep cycle to be interrupted for awhile…each person is different, though. Some people seem to immediately be able to sleep better, while others seem to have more interrupted sleep. Give it a few days, and hopefully by then, you’ll be sleeping more soundly than you were before the Whole30!

Hi,
I have done the whole 30 before and it changed my families life! We continue it now with”cheats”every once in a while. In your snack list you list larabars. It says u
Use caution. Why is that?
radlandon says
Julie, for anyone who is a sugar addict or craves sugar, the Whole30 suggests staying away from Larabars unless it’s an emergency. The reason is that eating those perpetuates your brain’s “need” for sugar. When I’m doing the Whole30, I am trying to “break” that sugar craving and so try not to eat those type of things unless I’m in a pickle. If you don’t have sugar cravings, though, it may not apply to you as much. Hope that helps!

Sorry , I guess it says moderation. Why is that?
