Today, I turn 39 years old. I’m etching my way toward the big 4-0. I’m slowly but surely approaching the age that, when I was young, seemed old. Somehow now it doesn't feel quite so ancient. Of course as adults, birthdays become more reflective. There’s something that comes with the wisdom of age that makes one reminisce. I’ve been thinking about the last 19 years of marriage to Chris and the abundance of memories that have stuffed themselves into our lives. It seems the walls of our ... continue reading...
When I took the road less traveled
It's funny how life has a way of taking unexpected twists and turns. We often think we have everything all planned out, and then a curve ball comes (sometimes good, sometimes bad), and we're left standing there scratching our heads. This is but a moment of the hell that a child with DIPG goes through. Now, imagine you’re her mother. You see the terror in your child’s ... continue reading...

Why I decided to get Botox I've always been headache-prone. Most of my adult life, I would get headaches off and on. Usually nothing too unbearable, just headaches that seemed to stem from tension in my neck. Then, about three years ago, I had major jaw surgery (a mandibular osteotomy) due to ... continue reading...
